Following the overwhelming response from last year’s Energizer ‘Shop In The Dark’ campaign, Energizer in partnership with MYDIN, called for entry submissions for the Energizer ‘Shop In The Dark’ 2017 campaign throughout April and May. To reach out to a wider audience of MYDIN shoppers and Energizer users across the nation, Energizer introduced three different methods of entry submissions which included a series of Virtual Reality (VR) challenge roadshows, mail-in entries and a Facebook digital content. The VR challenge roadshows added a different twist to shopping in the dark by using a VR machine and was held across four states – Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan and Johor in May.

“We received overwhelming response from across Peninsular Malaysia and we want to thank Energizer users and MYDIN shoppers for their support and for choosing Energizer for their lighting and power solutions. This is our second year organising the Energizer ‘Shop In The Dark’ campaign in partnership with MYDIN. The introduction of the virtual reality element to the ‘Shop In The Dark’ 2017 challenge at selected MYDIN stores provided an entirely new and challenging experience of shopping in the dark. We want to congratulate the ten teams of finalists today. Our finalists enjoyed the benefit of our Energizer Max batteries that are now 8x longer-lasting throughout their fun and exciting shopping spree in the dark within MYDIN,” shared Mr Lee Kim Chye, Energizer’s Business Director (Malaysia and Singapore).

“MYDIN is thrilled to be a part of this interactive campaign for our shoppers and Energizer users in collaboration with Energizer once more. MYDIN and Energizer have been working very closely for more than 30 years and the ‘Shop In The Dark’ 2017 campaign continues our long-standing business partnership in a way that everyone can enjoy,” said Datuk Wira (Dr) Haji Ameer Ali Mydin, Managing Director of MYDIN, the largest and among the most established Malaysian-owned retailers involved in wholesale and retail business.

About Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd. (MYDIN)
Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad which is commonly known as MYDIN is a local retail and wholesale company. It was first founded by late Tuan Mydin Mohamed bin Gulam Husen. The business operation of MYDIN is like the story of ‘rags-to-riches’ because it is all started at the sidewalk. Being very particular about the concept of halal in its every business aspect, MYDIN also has come out with an idea of establishing its retail and wholesale business branding by the slogan, ‘Why Pay More? Buy at Wholesale Prices!’.
