Sunway Lagoon reached out to 980 children to promote 3Rs elements through edutaining programme

Sunway Lagoon recently collaborated with Pelangi and Q-dees Kindergarten for its Phase 1 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Education Reach Out programme. The initiative aimed to provide an early learning experience for pre-schoolers on effective waste disposal as part of Sunway Lagoon’s commitments to support the SDG Goals. A short briefing was provided by the Sunway Lagoon team at the commencement of the event to enlighten the pre-schoolers on the 3Rs elements and its contribution towards reducing pollution and conserving natural resources, landfill space and energy. The students then had a hands-on experience in waste segregation through interesting and fun-filled activities.
The edutaining programme has since empowered a total of 980 children from 10 kindergartens to incorporate the ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (3Rs)’ elements as the basis for sustainable waste management.

Carousell, one of the world’s largest and fastest growing classifieds marketplace, conducted an in-app survey that drew 1,724 respondents gather some insights into the traditional house cleaning or decluttering during Ramadan in preparation for the Hari Raya celebrations. 94% of the respondents said that house cleaning is an annual affair that forges a better relationship between family members.

Parents remained the key drivers to kickstart the cleaning with 35% of the respondents saying that decluttering is mainly initiated by their parents. Meanwhile, the remaining self-initiated cleaning (26%), led by a spouse (19%) or a sibling (19%).

Bhd. has kick-started its Syawal charity campaign, ‘Anda Pam, Kami Derma’ to support the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia (NKF).
