The School by Jaya One Gives Back to Society this Christmas 2017

A collaboration with Makers & Co to present A Christmas Market

What if you could spend less and give back to the community at the same time this Christmas? A Christmas Market at The School by Jaya One will be hosting 5 Non-Government Organizations, over 30 creative entrepreneurs and loads of workshop activities for families to enjoy.
The 5 NGOs are:
1) WATIM which stands for Women Independent Society or Pertubuhan Wanita Tunggal is a support system for single women who are married or unmarried supporting the household single-handedly. These women make crafts by hand to sell so that they can make some income to support themselves. WATIM will be bringing Christmas decorative items to the Christmas Market. 

2) PERNITA also known as Pertubuhan Wanita Bumiputra Kuala Lumpur Dan Selangor is a platform supporting not only women but also education, the Orang Asli community and the welfare of the needy society. They will be selling hampers and gift baskets to support their cause. 

3) Gerai OA or Gerai Orang Asal is a popular choice when it comes to buying handmade crafts from the Orang Asli community. These products are made with the art of weaving beads and leaves into delightful jewellery, bags, pouches and baskets. Do come early to grab these one of a kind pieces as their stocks are very limited. 

4) IPAN fondly known as Independent Pet Rescue and Adoption Network is team of animal lovers who aims to rescue, rehabilitate, spay/neuter and release dogs and cats in our community. They work efficiently and diligently for these animals to give them a second chance in life. IPAN will be selling hand poured soy candles, t-shirts, jewellery and pet care products to support their 101 spay and neuter programme. 

5) Cheshire Home is a non-profit organization for the differently abled community. Run by a small team, this home empowers the differently abled to create a normal lifestyle for themselves. They will be selling handmade crafts to help create a means of independent living. 

The best part of all is that each of the items sold during the event will be priced below RM50. There is absolutely no reason not to be here to enjoy this special season with the advantage of the great price reductions as well as discounts on all merchandise. 

If you think you might need to leave the children at home to shop to your hearts content, think again. Bring the kids along and let them enjoy making, crafting and building with Doodle Malaysia. They are hosting a ‘Make a Gift’ workshop where children could make a handmade gift for the less fortunate children who will be celebrating their Christmas in the hospital.

The School in collaboration with Makers & Co and Markets, will see a weekend of support, Christmas cheer and festive warmth to usher the season of giving and joy. A Christmas Market will be sparkling at Ground Floor, Block J, The School by Jaya One on the 2nd & 3rd of December 2017 from 11am until 7pm. 

Highlights of A Christmas Market weekend bazaar include: 

·         Over 30 entrepreneurs in the arts, crafts, fashion & food categories.
·         Interactive workshops (clay, coffee stain, puzzle building).
·         5 NGO's (WATIM, PERNITA, Gerai OA, Cheshire Home, IPAN).
·         Live performances (choir, dance, busking)

The Kid From The Big Apple Held its Official Original Soundtrack Launch

Three Pictures Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian award-winning production company renowned for the 2016 hit film, The Kid From The Big Apple, held its official original soundtrack launch recently at Setiawalk, Puchong. This makes them the first in the nation to execute such a concept of having an album launch specifically for a film.  The newly released album consist of a compilation of the theme songs, background scores and other audio tracks in Mandarin and English. These songs are from both the first film as well as the upcoming sequel, which is set to hit cinemas nationwide on November 16, 2017, followed by other countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.  Titled “Togetherness,” the album gives fans a unique chance of hearing a preview of the songs in the upcoming sequel as well as reliving some of the hit songs from the first film.
