Gourmet Cuisine at Champignons, Oasis Square

Last weekend, I was at Oasis Square and when I look for something to eat for my dinner with my family, we came across a newly opened restaurant i.e. Champignons. Champignons is named after the French word for Mushrooms. As we know that mushrooms are often to used in western cuisine, Champignons serves contemporary European dishes featuring selected fresh Asian ingredients and flavours.
When we go in to look for a table, I was amaze with the ambience environment and unique designs that gave me a comfortable and Italian feel.
The waiter, waitress and the Chef here are quite friendly. Started operations in December 2017, the kitchen in this semi-fine dining restaurant is headed by one of their founders, Gary. Gary is a passionate foodie who has been in the hospitality industry for over 15 years. Graduated in KDU, Gary has worked in hotels and restaurants in Switzerland, London, Dubai and Macau. He also has been exploring cuisines all over the world in the past 2 decades to deepen their knowledge and broaden their experience. Indeed a very experience Chef that are going to show us a fine dining experience with Champignons.

Using Asian ingredients and flavours that are enhanced with modern preparation techniques, Champignons are consistent with their dedication to sustainability by sourcing only the freshest produce for their menu. Their pork are from USA while beef and Salmon are from Australia. Their team will craft an exceptional menu paired with outstanding fine wines to let us to experience their interpretation of modern slow food.
After 5 minutes of ordering, we were served with our drinks i.e. Ice Lemon Tea and Cold Pressed Juices. Dragon fruit + Apple + Pear + Lemon, it is an anti-oxidant juice that are good for our health.

As for starter, we had Seared Role Gras with Fig Jam. Seared Role Gras with Fig Jam is smooth and soft like a beancurd. It is finely marinated and the taste was great with some sweetness to the dish.

For soup, since we wanted to try out a different soup that we used to have, we had ordered French Onion Soup. Caramelized onion toast and gruyere cheese espuma, the taste of the soup is indeed unique and healthy. Onion helps to improve our digestion and fight cancer. Just add the gruyere cheese espuma to the soup to your taste, stir it and drink it and you'll feel that your body will be a bit warm after having this.

For pork lovers, do try out Grilled US Pork Ribs with Plum Sake Glaze. The spareribs was juicy and the meat was tender. With the plum sake which was finely marinated to the ribs, the taste match perfectly with the meat. It is one of the best pork spareribs that are so flavourful and delicious that we could find at Klang Valley.

For anyone who need to have rice as dinner like me and my boys, Baked Halibut Fillet with Lemon that comes with rice is our top choice. Baked seafood rice with tomato and zucchini which is hearty and filling. With a quick and easy lemon-herb marinade, the fish dish is a healthy food to eat with some green vegetables and mussels.

Our next dish is the Black Truffle Chicken Breast. Comes with rosti potato, glazed vegetables & creamy chanterelle mushrooms sauce which is the best combination for a chicken meal. Even though it is chicken breast, the chicken meat was tender and juicy while the potato was crunchy. I like the mushroom sauce that paired perfectly with the chicken with some healthy vegetables salad to eat with.

When you dine-in at Champignons, do try out their unique Chocolate Delights as desserts. These unique delights was created by Chef Gary which are both delicious and enchanting. The dessert looks like a mushroom with white chocolate as the shell. Once the strawberry sorbet was pour into the white chocolate shell, it will melt slowly and cover the rich chocolate brownies. With a scoop of the dessert, it will melt slowly in our mouth and popped  to a sweetness that is quite addictive.
