Kumon Malaysia launches ‘Unspoken Love’ video in conjunction with Mother’s Day
Kumon Malaysia collaborated with Film Director, Mr Jozef
Chai, together with Magic Hour Studio to conceptualise the video, encouraging Malaysians
to appreciate all mothers for their dedication, love and sacrifices for their
children
Malaysia’s largest after-school enrichment programme, Kumon Malaysia, reminds
us of how far the impact of a mother’s sacrifice can go in wanting the best for
her children in a newly-launched emotive video entitled, “Unspoken Love”, launched
in conjunction with Mother’s Day.
In a 7-minute emotional video, the storyline showcased the journey of a single mom struggling to make ends meet whilst single-handedly bringing up her nine-year-old daughter, Elly. The video is seen from Elly’s perspective, who showed feelings of resentment towards her mother for not being there for her when she needed her most during her growing up years. However, all that Elly’s mom wanted for her was to give her a brighter future, working hard to provide her with the opportunity to nurture her potential through holistic learning.
The
video conveyed that it is indeed important for parents and caregivers to take
into account their child’s best interests at heart to ensure that they are able
to achieve their fullest potential in anything and everything that they set out
to do.
Sharing
his thoughts on the video, Mr Yosuke Sugawa, General Manager of Kumon Malaysia
shared, “The idea for this video was to acknowledge the struggles that a mother
faces when raising a child, especially during the earlier years when children
require the most support and attention from their mothers.
At Kumon Malaysia, we also want to create awareness amongst
parents that academic excellence goes beyond achieving top grades class, as it
is now common for children to be faced with academic-related stress. Even from
as young as 4 years, building a strong foundation through critical life skills
such as confidence, independence and determination is key to helping a child to
nurture their limitless potential to be successful in the future, aside from
academic excellence. The video serves as a reminder to parents that by
nurturing these positive traits from young provides a child with a solid
platform that sets a child to be in the right track for the future.”
“In coming up with the creative concept behind this video, we
felt that a touching storyline would resonate best amongst Malaysians, tugging
on their heartstrings and reminding us to appreciate the mother figures in our
lives, no matter what day of the year it is,” shared Film Director, Mr Jozef
Chai.
“On behalf the Kumon team, we’d like to extend our
heartfelt appreciation to all parents out there, for the effort and sacrifices
in nurturing the future generation!” said Mr Sugawa.
In
conjunction with Mother’s Day, the inspiration for the video came about from
wanting to share an inspiring yet impactful message amongst the community that
a parents’ love plays a major part in a child’s developmental journey to
ensuring that they grow up to be successful leaders in the future.
The
video was developed by Kumon Malaysia in collaboration with Film Director, Mr
Jozef Chai, together with Magic Hour Studio as well as in partnership with Kumon
Malaysia’s PR Consultancy, Perspective Strategies. Check out the video at https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=293214164931336.
