BRINGING HOPE WITH MID-AUTUMN FESTIVE FLAVOURS


~The NKF annual mooncake charity project is back~

Savour mooncakes with your loved ones while supporting a good cause this Mid-Autumn festival. The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Malaysia is partnering with Oversea again this year for the annual mooncakes charity project. All proceeds from this initiative will be channelled to NKF in aid of our poor kidney failure patients.


The custom-designed gift box this year comes in the ever auspicious and classic design, with the earthy tones representing elegance, reliability, and warmth, associated with origin of the festival. The mooncakes are 100% halal certified and come in two available set types:

•           Type A box includes a normal 4-piece set of Pure Lotus Paste, Lotus Paste 1 Yolk, Golden Starlight 1 Yolk and Green Tea with Red Bean mooncakes at a donation of RM 68 per box.

•           Type B box includes a premium 6-piece set of White Lotus 1 Yolk, Lotus Paste 2 Yolks, Pure Golden Starlight, Green Tea with Red Bean, Assorted Fruits and Nuts and Shanghai 1 Yolk at a donation of RM 88 per box.

The proceeds from the mooncakes sales will be funneled towards the treatment and support of underprivileged dialysis patients, as well as funding NKF’s constant efforts to educate the public about kidney disease.

Members of the public can also sponsor mooncakes for NKF patients and their families to extend their celebrations to those in need.

Mr. Chua Hong Wee, Chief Executive Officer of NKF said, “As a non-profit organization dedicated to helping dialysis patients, we always place emphasis in supporting the community. The annual mooncake charity project is part of our fundraising initiative in order to provide affordable dialysis treatment to all our patients who are in need of financial aid. Every year, NKF subsidizes the dialysis treatments costs for 1,600 patients who are having treatment at our 28 dialysis centres nationwide. With the generosity of the public, the funds will certainly go a long way in helping us to provide financial relief for the patients under our care.”

Those who wish to do their part for charity by purchasing the NKF mooncakes can access online order form from the NKF website at http://www.nkf.org.my. Payment can be made via credit card, cheque or postal order, as well as cash via deposit or online-banking transfer. Proof of payment is to be attached to completed order forms and returned via fax or email. Donors will be informed when the mooncakes are available for collection at the NKF Secretariat office in Section 14, Petaling Jaya. Deliveries to home or to offices can also be requested with applicable charges.

The Kid From The Big Apple Held its Official Original Soundtrack Launch

Three Pictures Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysian award-winning production company renowned for the 2016 hit film, The Kid From The Big Apple, held its official original soundtrack launch recently at Setiawalk, Puchong. This makes them the first in the nation to execute such a concept of having an album launch specifically for a film.  The newly released album consist of a compilation of the theme songs, background scores and other audio tracks in Mandarin and English. These songs are from both the first film as well as the upcoming sequel, which is set to hit cinemas nationwide on November 16, 2017, followed by other countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.  Titled “Togetherness,” the album gives fans a unique chance of hearing a preview of the songs in the upcoming sequel as well as reliving some of the hit songs from the first film.
