Back to School with Healthy Feet & Spine

Our children learning to walk receives important sensory information from the soles of their feet touching the ground. I'm sure all parents will agreed with me that a footwear helps to protect our children's feet from injury and from the heat and cold. The shoes which are too tight nor too loose could hamper our children's walking and cause problems, such as ingrown toenails and flat feet.
I'm here at Sunfeet International Rehabilation Centre to attend a Back to School with Healthy Feet & Spine Talk by Dato' Dr Edmund Lee with my children to understand how as a father of 5 children could ensure that my children had the right school shoes and right bag to have a healthy feet & spine.

Flat feet in children may never pose a problem. In fact, most young children with flat foot eventually grow into feet with normal and healthy arches. Flat feet will become a problem when our child complains of foot pain, there is swelling at the bottom of the foot near the arch, pain develops in other parts of the lower leg or ankle. our child foot becomes stiff and inflexible and their feet get tired easily.
If your child has all the above symptoms, it's time to make an appointment with Dato' Dr Edmund Lee, Orthotic Expert in Asia for further analysis and diagnostic. At Sunfeet International Rehab Centre, their Foot Health Consultant & Specialist will understand our children's body movement and structure. They used their unique biomechanical assessment system to assess and diagnose causes of patients' lower limb and biomechanical problems.

The system has its foundation in engineering principles and allows their Foot Health Consultant & Specialist to determine the underlying cause and effect of biomechanical anomalies, which are then clearly explained to patients.
At Sunfeet, their Foot Health Consultant & Specialist will recommend the right-shoes for our child. Base on the biomechanical analysis, the best-fitting shoe will ensure that our child's foot is properly supported and comfortable for them to run around the school and for their daily wears. For their Back to School Campaign, each pair of the shoe was at promotion of RM299 nett instead of their normal price. A good investment for our child's healthy foot.
Besides getting the right shoes for our child, a school bag is very important to protect our child spine. The way a school bag fits and is worn will affect our child's posture and spine health. Therefore, it is important to have the correct fit for a school bag to keep our child's posture in a neutral position to decrease stress on the muscles and joints of the neck, shoulders and spine.
Sunfeet International Rehabilitation Centre is located at 18, Jalan 19/1, Seksyen 19, 46300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Do call them at 013-5283939 for an appointment to have you and your child's foot check and to determine the right shoes for them.
I had tried out some of the shoes in the shelves together with my children. The shoes were comfortable and they do customised shoes for diabetic patients too. I am impressed with the design of the shoes and it is customised for each and everyone of us to ensure our feet fit comfortable with the shoes. Times to stay healthy with healthy feet and healthy spine with Sunfeet.
