Igniting 62 Years of Independence at the Curve and eCurve

As Malaysians around the world came together in celebration of the nation’s 62nd year of independence, the Curve and eCurve joined in the patriotic spirit with a fun-filled Merdeka weekend at both malls!
Inspired by the vibrant culture of Malaysia, the Curve held a variety of family friendly activities for patrons during the weekend of August 31 to September 1, 2019. Children could choose to have their faces beautifully painted and participate in a batik as well as flower pinwheel and Merdeka puppets workshop. Sweet tooths were in for a treat with a Merdeka themed cookie decorating station while little ones were also well entertained with cheerful clowns and balloon sculptures.

Just a stone’s throw away, at eCurve, Malaysians witnessed the beauty and diversity of Malaysian culture through the Muhibbah Dance. The performance beautifully intertwined the traditional dances of Malaysia’s three main ethnic groups composed to their respective traditional musical instruments. The crowd was in awe with the performances, swaying to the mixed music from the three races.

Encik Jazmi Kamarudin, Senior General Manager of the Curve said, “We are touched to see our patrons embrace the patriotic spirit at the mall this past weekend. In this modern day, we are often engrossed with constant worries of what the future may hold. Organising this fun weekend at our mall is one way for us to provide visitors with an avenue to reflect on our past and come together in unity.”

Gina Long Ahmad, Acting Centre Manager added, “Once a year, Malaysians gather in unison to celebrate Merdeka and the illustrious history of our nation. For this special time of the year, we thought it would be exciting to create a campaign that showcased the beauty of Malaysia which brought our patrons together. I am confident that the Muhibbah performance created a memorable Merdeka day celebration for all visitors to the mall.”
